Press Release

Rotary Club of Dominica’s Annual Grotto Home Lunch

On Wednesday, October 25th, the Rotary Club of Dominica continued its annual tradition of spreading the warmth of Creole culture to the residents of the Grotto Home for the Homeless. As the island buzzes with the spirit of nationality, pride, culture, and unity, our members are thrilled to share this vibrant energy with the Grotto Home community. This event stands as a living testament to the enduring koudmen tradition passed down by our ancestors.

The Grotto Home residents were treated to a delicious Callalou soup lunch, a gesture of goodwill that reflects our commitment to nurturing our community. In addition, we donated $1,000 worth of essential groceries to support the needs of the Grotto Home for the Homeless. This heartwarming initiative was made possible through funds raised by the Rotary Club of Dominica during The Original Souse and Punch 2023 fundraiser.

During this heartwarming event, we also held a raffle draw, with all proceeds dedicated to funding Rotary International’s community projects and disaster relief efforts worldwide. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors and everyone who participated in the raffle. Your contributions help us make a real difference in communities near and far.

Congratulations to the Raffle Winners:

  • First Prize: Ms. Sherry Richards; WCMF season ticket
  • Second Prize: Mr. Kershton Pascal; Dinner for two compliments of Jungle Bay Dominica
  • Third Prize: Mr. Wilson Etienne; Brunch for two compliments of Fort Young Hotel
  • Fourth Prize: Mr. Matthias Popo; Day spa experience at The Glam

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, and all those who joined hands with us to create a memorable day of giving back and spreading joy. Together, we continue to make a positive impact on our beloved community.
