Saudi Arabia to Help Transform Roseau, As Dominica Team Visits Saudi to Learn Tourism

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has agreed to help transform the capital city of Roseau by facilitating the Roseau Enhancement Project. This project is designed to beautify Roseau in terms of attractions, navigation, lighting, road and bridge constructions, and general enhancement to make the city attractive and fascinating.

PM Roosevelt Skerrit said government officials met with the tourism minister from Saudi Arabia for the second time and that they discussed funding the Roseau beautification project. He said another team will be visiting from the kingdom very soon and that this team will advance the discussions already brokered by the heralding teams.

Roseau enhancement project is of national priority. …we have held discussions with the Saudi government about the funding of this project and a follow-up team will be in Dominica within weeks to advance those discussions.

He added that the Saudi team also discussed boosting tourism in Dominica by teaching Dominican officials the best way to market tourism products. He said a contigent from Dominica will be visiting Saudi Arabia to learn the best way to market tourism for optimum advantages in the Nature Island soon.

An offer is on the table to share expertise with Dominica’s ministry of tourism on tourism marketing and development strategies. A team will be visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia very soon so that we can learn from the wonderful work that they are doing where tourism is concerned, both public and private sector entities will participate.

The Saudi people will also boost relations with Dominica in the areas of culture, infrastructure, and agriculture among others.
