School resumes for the 2019/2020 academic year, even as ACL teachers undergo training in Barbados. Students and teachers of public schools resumed a few days back, but those of public schools resumed now. Parents and guardians have been encouraged with preparing their children for the school resumption, and getting them all they need to do well in school for the new academic year.
In the same vein, educators from the Achievement Learning Centre (ALC) just completed 10 days of special training in Barbados. The training was organized by the Maria Holder Memorial Trust, Dominica-America Relief & Development Association (DARDA), and the Sandy Lane Charitable Trust in partnership with Sunshine Early Stimulation Center and My Child & I Charity.
It held at the Vocational Center in St. Michael and the Derrick Smith School in Barbados.
Beverly LeBlanc, founder of ACL, was one of the training facilitators. He disclosed that the workshop was essential to developing the skills of educators in the teaching profession as well as increasing the entrance of teachers into the industry.
Established in 2011, ACL was set up to provide special instructions to needy children. The organization also worked to train students on academic skills and teachers on instructional knowledge needed to impact the society for significant growth.
The teachers expressed their delights and appreciation to ACL, saying the workshop exposed them to new insights on maximizing teaching skills for the benefits of students within and outside classrooms.
