Skerrit Highlights Developmental and Employment Opportunities Coming In 2022

PM Roosevelt Skerrit has highlighted his development and employment prospects for 2022. He said new jobs will be created and development projects will escalate to foster economic prosperity for all Dominicans.

Skerrit said his administration will intensify efforts in the areas of employment creation, transportation, communication, education, healthcare, and housing among others.

He said the developmental outlook will reposition the country for post-COVID opportunities and growths. “This is critical to moving the country forward and positioning ourselves to grasp post-COVID opportunities and shape the Dominica and future that we want and deserve,” he revealed.

According to the prime minister, the establishment of primary healthcare facilities will remain a top agenda across various communities, and housing programmes will intensify to accommodate every Dominican. He urged all citizens to work together for the collective interests of the nation and to strengthen developmental collaborations for positive change.

We look forward to the New Year, filled with hope and expectation knowing that this government has sought to keep citizens safe in order to secure prosperous futures for every Dominican citizen. Our survival and success as a people and as a country rest on all working together and becoming our brothers’ keeper.

He equally noted that his administration was able to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals and businesses by boosting access to equitable finance. He urged Dominicans to make themselves available for vaccination to curtail the spread of the pandemic and to safeguard the health of everyone across the country.

The challenges we face require collective response driven by love, respect and loyalty of country and people. Let us draw on our successes, renew our commitment to each other and to country and build for the future. The coming year holds much promise for us all.
