Skerrit Reveals Guidelines for Face-to-Face and Online Classes in Schools
PM Roosevelt Skerrit has revealed revised guidelines for face-to-face and online classes in schools across the country. In line with new recommendations from the Ministry of Education, Skerrit said schools will be opened for in-person classes on a phased basis in the next few weeks.
The prime minister in-person tutorials will hold from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays to Wednesdays, while online classes will hold on Thursdays and Fridays. This means there will be classroom education three times a week and online classes two times a week. The government also made different provisions for students in kindergarten classes, primary classes, and secondary schools.
Students from grades 4-6 will attend a face to face sessions two days per week from Thursdays to Fridays and primary schools considered large grades 3, 5, and 6 will attend face to face sessions two days a week Mondays and Tuesdays, while students from grades K to 2 will attend sessions two days a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Those in grade 4 will be available for face-to-face teaching on Fridays only. Skerrit also disclosed that considering that St. Martin Primary School has more than 300 students, the education ministry will make a special arrangement with the school to help with classes and online education.
The DLP leader clarified that secondary school students will attend physical classes once a week from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Forms 5 Mondays, form 4 Tuesdays, form 3 Wednesdays, form 2 Thursdays, and form 1 Fridays. Schools are asked to strategize accordingly so as to accommodate students to ensure proper social distancing protocol is observed.

Students of Dominica Grammar School (DGS) and Goodwill Secondary School (GSS) will use the DGS building in the morning since it is spacious enough to accommodate them for lectures, Skerrit disclosed.
