Beginning from November 30, LIAT will commence flight operations five days a week to seven Caribbean destinations which are Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Vincent. The airline disclosed that more destinations will be added before the end of the year when business stabilizes.
LIAT is going to start on a limited flight schedule because its operations were impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the region, and largely because the airline had just undergone a restructuring under a new management.
In response to the recent restructuring and the coronavirus pandemic, the airline completed all regulatory requirements in its region of operation as well as re-trained all staff and employees. To this end, staffs have been reskilled on sanitizing the airlines to limit the spread of COVID-19, while passengers will be required to wear face masks during check-in and onboard the planes. A new boarding procedure has also been implemented where potential passengers can book their flights on LIAT’s website.
The airline’s policy for utilizing credits has also been updated, while customers wishing to claim refunds will have to wait until such requests are approved by the airline management. A number of passengers have expressed delight at the new changes and hoped that LIAT will return to the air stronger and better positioned to serve the personal and business interests of the Caribbean people.
