A contingent of Students from Agro-Campus Guadeloupe is currently on the island to learn and explore Dominica’s agricultural systems and best practices being undertaken by our farmers on varying levels at the subsistence, large, commercial, and organic agriculture.
The school which caters to students who want to develop careers in agriculture or become certified in the field ensures that the training received are diverse and are exposed to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Manufacturing and Processing along the value chain.
The students are being hosted by the East Agricultural Region staff, within the Kalinago Territory and will visit livestock, banana, and plantain farms, a visit to an organic-based farm in Bellevue Chopin, a day at the Farmer Service Center and tour stops along the island.
Students arrived on Friday, January 19th and depart Dominica Sunday, January 30th 2023
