Tamara Lowe and Chegon James; Mentors of the Green Innovations Summit
Tamara Lowe, Country Manager of Tropical Shipping, and Chegon James, Managing Director of Blue Ventures Ltd expressed their excitement after being chosen as two of the mentors of the inaugural Green Innovations Summit. They both also pledged their commitment in helping all the aspiring Green entrepreneurs taking part in the summit organized and hosted by the National Development Foundation of Dominica (NDFD).
In separate statements, they likewise commended the NDFD in staging this Green Innovations Summit that is designed to generate innovative business ideas that are also friendly to the environment. The summit also provides capacity-building opportunities through several learning sessions conducted by a set of highly qualified trainers.
The participants, as part of the summit’s goal to produce well-rounded Green entrepreneurs, are also receiving superb mentorship to help them polish their ideas, sharpen their entrepreneurial approach, and develop their business plans.
The participants have been working with their mentors as they continue to prepare for their final pitch and presentation this afternoon before a panel of judges composed of experienced leaders coming from different industries covering the areas of Financial Sustainability, Environmental Impact, Marketing & Sales, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
Other mentors include Jeanelle Brisbane of Wild Dominique, Natasha Yeeloy-Labad of the Dominica Institute of Customer Service, Kevin Francis of the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association, and independent consultant Sharon Vidal-Francis. The NDFD also mobilized its management and staff to serve as mentors with its Business Development Officers Naomi Romain-St. Jean, Juanita Casey, and George Challenger, it’s Business and Entrepreneurial Development Manager Donald Bercasio, and Executive Director Cletus Joseph serving as mentors.
