The Dominica Credit Union Movement Alleviates the Plight of its CONVID-19 Affected Members

The Credit Union movement continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on its members. On the heels of a recently conducted member impact survey, the movement has decided on providing it members the possibility of a 3-month deferment of loan interest and principal in the first instance.

In addition, we are currently engaging our stakeholders with a view to identifying the critical and strategic sectors that need specific lines of financial support and these measures and initiatives will be announced in short order.

The participating six (6) credit unions are:

  • Central Coop Credit Union Ltd
  • Marigot Coop Credit Union Ltd
  • West coast Coop Credit Union Ltd
  • Grand Bay Coop Credit Union Ltd
  • St. Mary’s Coop Credit Union Ltd

Members are kindly asked to contact their credit unions for further information or contact the League’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/dcsll

The movement continues to encourage our members to conduct their daily transactions online or with appointments and to abide by the national health and safety protocols established. Members are further encouraged to monitor the social media pages of their credit unions for regular updates.

The League will continue to work with its affiliates to ensure that they provide relevant support to their members in this period of uncertainty.

DCSLL

In 1957, the DCSLL was formed with the then twelve existing credit unions on the island. The League grew out of the need for one, unified voice. Over the years the DCSLL has worked in partnership with other agencies to provide a range of services for its 17 affiliated credit unions and other producer cooperatives.
