Three Dominican footballers invited to Trinidad for a three-month trial
Three Dominican football players have been invited to Trinidad and Tobago for a three-month trial. Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Football Association (DFA), Gerald George, said the national players will be tested for fitness, technical expertise, tactical awareness, and personality traits while the trial lasts.
“At the end of the three-month period based on their overall performances, they will have the opportunity to join the club for the 2019/2020 season of the Trinidad and Tobago Pro League which is the highest level in the Trinidad and Tobago league system,” George said.
The Three Players –
- Erskine Williams – LA Enterprise Bombers FC
- Ajaya Royer – Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC
- Donan Jervier – Promex Harlem United FC
George said several Dominican players have found placement with foreign football clubs overseas and performing excellently. He cited the case of Sidney Lockhart of Sagicor South East who joined Morgan Caledonia United Football Club in October, as well as Briel Thomas who has been playing at the Trinidad and Tobago Pro League for several years.
Meanwhile, the DFA has invited all football clubs in Dominica to submit players’ names for insurance coverage purposes. Club players registered with the DFA will have their insurance policies financed by the association for the 2020 sporting season.
