A heart-wrenching incident unfolded today, August 13, 2023, as Dominican cyclist Bram Sanderson tragically lost his life in an accident on the Sydney Walling Highway and American Road in Antigua and Barbuda. Sanderson, a mere 30 years old, met with this unfortunate event while navigating the roads on his motorcycle during the early morning hours at around 3:05 am.
Initial reports highlight that the collision transpired at the ill-fated intersection and involved a pickup truck along with Sanderson’s motorcycle. The pickup, traveling from north to south, collided with Sanderson’s motorcycle that was journeying from west to east. The aftermath of this collision was nothing short of catastrophic, leaving Sanderson with severe injuries that ultimately claimed his life.
Prompt action was taken in response to the incident, with the Emergency Medical Services arriving at the scene within an astonishing four minutes of the distress call. Despite their swift and valiant efforts, Sanderson’s injuries proved insurmountable, leading to his unfortunate passing on his way to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center.
The tragic events also led to severe injuries sustained by Sanderson’s fellow rider, Daniel Jno Baptiste, aged 29. Presently, Jno Baptiste’s condition remains critical as he receives intensive medical treatment for multiple injuries, including those to his head and hip, at the same medical facility.
