Tragic End for Gregory Linton in St. Vincent: Gunshot to the Head and Mystery of Missing Firearm

The tragic death of Gregory Linton, a Dominican and employee of the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) based in St. Vincent, has shocked his colleagues and community. As reported by iWitness News, an autopsy revealed that Linton, who held diplomatic status, died from a gunshot to the head, with his licensed firearm currently missing.

Linton’s body was discovered in a diplomatic vehicle in Kingstown on June 18, showing signs of decomposition. Sources indicated he was set to leave St. Vincent the Friday before the grim discovery. Initial investigations led to the detention of an individual who reported the body, but they were later released.

The St Vincent Times speculates that the fatal shot may have come from Linton’s own missing firearm. Linton had served as CARDI’s Representative in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since 2017, a role in which he used his skills as an Agricultural Engineer.

His unexpected death has deeply affected both CARDI and the Dominican Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, with both expressing their sorrow. Remembered for his humility, professionalism, and dedication, Linton’s colleagues have expressed their grief and respect, wishing him eternal peace.
