Tropical Shipping Sponsors Dominica Chess Federation’s Interschools Tournament”

The Dominica Chess Federation (DCF) is extremely pleased to have Tropical Shipping as the main sponsor of the next Interschools Chess Tournament. Tropical Shipping presented the Federation with a cheque valued XCD 6792.25 on Monday, June 3, 2024.  

Over the past year, the Federation has been expanding its chess-in-schools program by presenting chess sets and supporting the establishment of chess clubs in several learning institutions on the island. It is a known fact that chess can enhance learning and has been proven to help children improve in math, problem-solving, critical thinking, pattern recognition and spatial reasoning. 

This generous expression of solidarity from Tropical Shipping will go a long way in helping the DCF to achieve its mission of developing chess in Dominica, particularly among the youth.  

The DCF is truly grateful and applauds Tropical Shipping for its investment in the pursuit of positive, beneficial, and worthwhile engagement of the nation’s youth.
