US-Egyptian Accused in Shocking Kidnapping Case in Castle Bruce, Dominica

A disturbing incident in the quiet community of Belle Fille, Castle Bruce, has culminated in formal charges of attempted murder and kidnapping being brought against Miled Gamil Boutros, an Egyptian-American national.

Boutros, who appeared before Magistrate Michael Laudat at the Roseau Magistrate’s Court on Monday, was remanded into custody pending a preliminary inquiry set for July 15, 2025. He is accused of attempting to kill Sheref Ahmed, an Egyptian national, following what police have described as a profoundly troubling episode that unfolded earlier this month.

According to reliable sources in Castle Bruce, the victim, Sheref Ahmed, managed a dramatic escape after allegedly being held against his will. Around 5 a.m. on the day of the incident, a neighbor tending his garden noticed Ahmed staggering toward him, visibly distressed and pleading for water. Realizing the severity of the situation, the neighbor immediately contacted emergency services. Ahmed was transported by ambulance and remains hospitalized, receiving treatment for multiple injuries.

The accused was not required to plead, as the matter is indictable and will be forwarded to the High Court. The prosecution argued successfully against bail, citing the seriousness of the offenses, Boutros’s foreign nationality, and his potential flight risk.

In court, security was visibly heightened. The case has attracted international attention, with diplomatic representatives from both the United States and Egypt being informed. While the precise details of the incident remain under investigation, court filings indicate that authorities are treating the matter with utmost gravity.

The Dominica Police Force has pledged to maintain transparency and ensure due process. In a statement, a police spokesperson said that the charges reflect “the commitment of law enforcement to protect all residents and uphold justice without prejudice.

The case remains active, with new developments anticipated as the inquiry date nears. Officials have indicated that further charges may be brought as the investigation unfolds.
