VF Consulting Founder and CEO, Valda Henry, Becomes Deputy Governor of ECCB
The founder and CEO of VF Consulting, Dr. Valda Henry, has been appointed the deputy governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB). Since its establishment in 1983, Henry will be the first woman to become a deputy governor at the ECCB and the third individual to occupy the position. According to her, she applied for the position half an hour before the deadline and she is glad to have been appointed.
Ms. Henry will serve a 5-year term at the ECCB, beginning from September. She had worked at the bank previous from 1994 to 1998 as a senior investment officer. Following Hurricane Maria in 2019, she also worked as a consultant for the bank and helped to restructure the bank’s department again. Although she had always wanted to return to the bank, she said she didn’t know that it was possible again and in top management position.
She thanked God for her appointment, saying she was able to make the cut by divine intervention. She also expressed joy at the prospect of working with ECCB Govornor Timothy N.J. Antoine to reposition the regional bank to serve the East Caribbean region. She will also be relinquishing her position at VF Consulting with a new CEO appointed in the next few weeks.
“This is all about God,” Henry said. “This is not really even about me. I owe Him all the thanks and the praise and the glory for this appointment. This new chapter in my book of life, this new leg of my journey is God… and I know that, so that makes me even more humble seeing that God is saying that this is a path that I ought to trod.”
Dr. Henry has a Ph.D in Industrial Relations and Business, a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelors in Management and a Bachelors in Law. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Global Professional in Human Resources, a SHRM-SCP.
