WAWU’s Kertiste Augustus to Engage Courts Unicomer and DEXIA
The secretary-general of WAWU, Kertiste Augustus, has announced that WAWU will meet with Courts Unicomer Dominica Ltd over a legal document received from the court’s executive in St. Lucia. He revealed that WAWU leadership has endeavoured to reach the managing executive of the organization in St. Lucia and that the agency and Courts Unicomer will meet on June 21, 2021.
In a related development, Augustus said WAWU has concluded an important negotiation between DEXIA and the Roseau Market leaders as it relates to salary increase and improved work conditions. Also, the agency also concluded another negotion with the Central Cooperative Credit Union (CCCUL) as determined by the clamour of the union’s staff to obtain better wage package.
The WAWU secretary-general said his agency will continue to work for the betterment of partner organizations as well as facilitiate resolutions of conflicts between marketing parties in Dominica. He recounted several successes that the agency has recorded and said more still needs to be done to ensure that all private and government parastals work together to uplift the economic potentials of the country.
He said his team is willing to work with leaders of organizations and marketing or product cooperatives to facilitate mutual understanding and foster business growth within the country and in the Caribbean region.
