Wheelchair-Bound Man of Eggleston Found Dead In a Drain in Canefield
The police have recovered the body of a wheelchair-bound individual identified as Ellingworth Frank in a drain close to Canefield bus-stop. The Eggleston man was found with many injuries to his forehead and the police suspect a homicide.
The body of Frank was found close to a Catholic church and police arrived to the scene after being tipped off by an anonymous caller. He was moved to the Princess Margaret Hospital where a doctor examined him and pronounced him dead. His body has been deposited at the morgue to await post-mortem while investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death continue.
In a related development, the police have arrested one man after they got report that there was an ongoing burglary in Canefield. A bus and other stolen items were recovered from the crime scene and the arrested man is said to be helping the authorities with information. The police said he will be charged to court on the conclusion of investigations.
In recent months, government officials and police authorities have been decrying the spate of gun-related violence and unwanton killings in Dominica. They urged the youths to eschew violence while promising to scale up security vigilance and prosecute any offenders according to the full weight of the law.
