Windward Islands Cricket Welcomes Clement Marcellin and 2 other Dominicans to Top Positions

Three Dominicans have been elected to top managerial positions within the Windward Island Cricket Board (WICB). These are Clement Marcellin, Liam Sebastien, and Kimara Hurtault. The Dominica Cricket Association (DCA) expressed felicitations to the three since they will be managing the sports of cricket at a regional level.

Marcellin, who was recently elected as president of DCA, joined Windwards Cricket Incorporated as vice-president and as a board member at Cricket West Indies. Sebastien had been a selector at Windwards Island Cricket and he was re-elected to the position. He is also the new manager of the Windwards Island Senior Men’s team. Hurtault was appointed as manager of the Windwards Island Under 19 Women’s Team.

Marcelling expressed joy at being appointed to two cricket boards – one in Dominica and the other at a regional level. He vowed to work hard to promote the sports and bring recognition to both players and island countries in southeastern West Indies. He said he will join hands with Sebastien and Hurtault as well as other board members to promote cricket.

President of the WICB, Dwain Gill, who was also re-elected to the position in Grenada, said he will work with Marcellin and others to pursue newly redefined focuses for the board over the next three years. The technical director at the WICB, Miles Bascombe, also tabled a framework for discovering and managing male and female cricket players.

  • Johnson Richardson – Director (Alternate CWI Representative)
  • Jamie Jno Baptiste – Director
  • Miles Bascombe – Director
  • Julian Charles – Director
  • Kerry Frank – Director
  • Samuel Holder – Director
  • Kezron Walters – Secretary
  • Jenry Ollivieree – Treasurer

At the annual general meeting of the WICB which held at the National Stadium in Grenada, former WICB president, Dr. Kishore Shallow, was awarded with an honorary Life Member award and presented with a plaque to mark his induction.
